Global EdTech Trends - Interview with Speakers Header v3.png RasimCin_Woopy.png

What do you like about your role?

I am a founder of Woppy which aims to encourage kids to produce something with their hands and share all within intranet platform created just for them. My role motivates me that I can start a butterfly effect to change kids’ mindset from consumption to production. Sharing culture is our future and kids must be educated according to this discipline instead of competitive culture.

Share three predictions on the future of Edtech.

           1) Sharing culture is new phenomenon for next generation

           2) STEAM disciplines’ importance will be much higher

           3) Neuro Education transforms the traditional style of learning

What technologies do you believe have the potential to transform the education industry?

Next generation education should be the combination of traditional style and innovative approach. That’s why, any hardware invention that encourages kids to think interdisciplinary can have a potential to transform whole education industry.

As we are celebrating out 5th anniversary of EdTechXEurope, we are looking at the key trends over the past 5 years in edtech. What would you say have been the key areas of change that are impacting edtech today? Anything unexpected that surprised you? Trends that were overhyped and never met their expected potential?

No one expects any mini board computer like Raspberry yet its impact is huge right now and they are really doing great job for education. As popular subject, IOT is our future and the way to define kids how iot transforms whole world, raspberry pi is magnificent tool to simplify understanding. Eben Upton really surprised me since unlike loads of giant technology companies, he achieved to produce affordable minicomputer. According to my opinion, any technology that aims pushing kids to consume a lot, never meet its expected potential.

Why is it important for all players in the edtech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?

Edtech is different from the other industries since no one can predict its impact on society. Due to social impact, its philosophy must depend on collaboration and collaboration means connection, network and continuous information exchange. Crucial point is that the main problem of Edtech industry is not gaining so much money, main problem is creating impact as Global Goals 4th headline describes us.

When you think about joining EdTechXEurope this year, what are you looking forward to? What makes you excited about our event in London?

Woppy’s unique aim is changing kids’ mindset from consumption to production that’s why, we are looking forward to presenting our model and solution to experts to get right feedback. Woppy believes that if right and likeminded people know each other, the possibility of impact on education will be much higher.
