What do you like about your role?
We like to support IT professionals to discover their potential, to develop their skills and go one step further in their professional education.
Share three predictions on the future of Edtech.
- AI (Artificial Intelligence), Machine Learning or humanized chat bots will help professionals to choose professional development regarding their individual needs.
- AR, VR and MR will create new learning environments.
- For the optimum learning experience we will need a mix out of online courses, offline workshops/bootcamps & Tandem programs.
What technologies do you believe have the potential to transform the education industry?
I strongly believe AI will be a game changer for the Education Industry.
As we are celebrating out 5th anniversary of EdTechXEurope, we are looking at the key trends over the past 5 years in edtech. What would you say have been the key areas of change that are impacting edtech today? Anything unexpected that surprised you? Trends that were overhyped and never met their expected potential?
Technology is changing in every industry and because skillsets for developers adapt every 12 to 18 months, lifelong learning becomes a “must have” in the tech industry. We feel online learning in the tech industry is overhyped. It’s redeeming feature is that one is able to learn 24 hours a day, remotely, whenever they want. However, quite often the quality of learning is compromised. We need to find sustainable ways to help developers seek professional resources which are more tailored to their needs in order to raise the overall quality in tech education.
Why is it important for all players in the edtech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?
Learning is a fundamental resource for people across all industries. We need to constantly communicate about the evolution of the industry and the quality/nature of the resources available.
When you think about joining EdTechXEurope this year, what are you looking forward to? What makes you excited about our event in London?
To use the creativity of the tech education community to solve the problems of tomorrow. More people, More industries, More creative solutions.
