Practicing English Speaking in Virtual Reality.

What are the key trends you believe have the power to transform the way we learn?

Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence. Actually, by combining storytelling and AI, we can have fluid conversations in a story - which is captivating and engaging. Using VR allows us to go to places current technology is not doing very well. This is not only meant for language learning, but education in general: Want to know more about Einstein's theory of relativity? Well, we will recreate Einstein and bring you back in time to have a full conversation with him!

The theme of EdTechXEurope 2018 is ‘Eternally Learning’. What does eternal learning mean to you?

For me, it means: always learning. Once you stop learning new things, you begin to fade away. In a philosophical way, even learning methods need to be always learning - improving.

What should the rest of the world learn about EdTech in your country?

Open to changing the status quo. We should be pushing the barriers of learning more, learning better and learning more efficiently. Forget about the shiny object, invest in ways to innovate the learning process.

Why is it important for all players in the EdTech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?

We don't know what we don't know. I love to connect with new people, have different points of views on topics I master because paradigm shifts are real! Our education system is far from perfect and is evolving at an alarmingly slow rate. We need to change this up!

How does your current role allow you to make a difference to education and learning space?

As CEO, I am developing a strategy to change the way we learn a new language, and education in general. We want to turn static learning materials (books and CDs) into dynamic, conversational adventures that forces the learner to express his or her knowledge in a constructive manner....while, of course, having fun in Virtual Reality!!

When you think about joining London EdTech Week and EdTechXEurope Summit this year, what are you looking forward to?

Meeting new and interesting people. Having a glimpse at what my children may experience when they go to school.
