What are the key trends you believe have the power to transform the way we learn?

1 "A" and 3 "E"s: Leverage AI for Efficacy, Empathy, and Engagement.

The theme of EdTechXEurope 2018 is ‘Eternally Learning’. What does eternal learning mean to you?

There are 2 dimensions. One is in the direction of learning without age limit. Another is in the direction of re-learn, such as the professionals go back to college to refresh their skills.

What should the rest of the world learn about EdTech in your country?

Augmented A.I. is being applied to personalize lessons. Blockchain is unleashed (I plan to elaborate it in EdtechXEurope 2018). In addition, a strong focus is on security and privacy, such as GDPR.

Why is it important for all players in the EdTech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?

The simple answer is that Metcalfe's law says the effect is proportional to the square of the number of parties in the ecosystem, i.e. n^2 effect. The little more sophisticated answer is that the complementary nature of publishers, EdTech companies, colleges, device makers and etc makes the system to work better.

How does your current role allow you to make a difference to education and learning space?

I lead the world most talented education technologists to create the A.I. assisted 1-on-1 tutoring platform for personalized learning anywhere anytime.

Inspiring and inspired.

When you think about joining London EdTech Week and EdTechXEurope Summit this year, what are you looking forward to?

Obviously, I am very excited to the part of this fascinating experience. EdTech has been evolving rapidly over the past 3 years. New companies, new technology, new investors, new ideas, new leaders... at EdTechXEurope are the magnet to me. Of course, I also look forward to catching up with old friends, old competitors, old colleagues...and share the latest from the workshop of IBM Watson Education.
