Share a short description about your company:
Professional software development programme for refugees.
How does your current role allow you to make a difference to the education and learning space?
We provide free vocational technical and personal development training to people from disadvantaged backgrounds, including refugees, minorities and other people from low socio-economic backgrounds
What are the key trends you believe have the power to transform the way we learn?
We need to think on education by creating holistic environment with the best of technology and the best of human connection and communities. Many of the most impactful solutions are based on low tech together with an inspiring person guiding a group of people collaborating closer to each other.
Why is it important for all players in the EdTech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?
The goals of people working in the EdTech sector should concentrate in unleashing the potential of people around the world by sharing their knowledge and best practices. There is no single solution that provides all the answers to different individuals, cultures and backgrounds. By working together we can bring the best out of every student independent of their circumstance.
What should the rest of the world learn about EdTech innovation in your country?
The UK has many interesting startups working in the sector and several other grassroots and community initiatives that are worth noting. There are several organisations working really hard to make programming more accessible to people from all backgrounds and that is very inspiring to see. I very much look forward to see an ongoing cooperation between social enterprises, corporations and startups.
When you think about joining London EdTech Week and EdTechXEurope Summit this year, what are you looking forward to?
I would love to find more companies and organisations interested in creating a social impact and support the most disadvantaged groups in society by creating lifelong learning programs. I would love to learn about more education practices and technologies to help achieve those goals.
Who would you like to meet at the event?
Companies, startups, educators, ngos and anybody that is interested in progressive ideas to bring technology education in holistic ways.
