Share a short description about your company:

Edukasyon is the leading EdTech startup in the Philippines, which aims to empower youth to make better-informed education, career and life choices.

How does your current role allow you to make a difference to the education and learning space?

By operating the largest online youth platform in the Philippines - reaching 10 million English-speaking students each year - we are able to democratise access to information that inspires students to take control of their education and learning. This information includes a database of 13,000 schools, 20,000 programs, 4,000 scholarships and 150+ career paths, plus engaging multimedia content that offers advice on career and life choices.

What are the key trends you believe have the power to transform the way we learn?

The automation of work forces us to see greater value in learning 21st century skills that technology can’t match, as well the importance of life-long learning and up-skilling. AI is another trend that can help online learning become increasingly targeted and individualised.

Why is it important for all players in the EdTech ecosystem to continuously connect, network and learn from each other?

It’s important because insights gathered, shared and applied across the ecosystem ultimately benefit the students, who will grow up to be more effective individuals, professionals and members of society.

What should the rest of the world learn about EdTech innovation in your country?

In the Philippines, internet, mobile and social media are at about 60% penetration, and expected to be at 90% by 2030. We are a mobile-first culture with significant room for EdTech innovation, and the best way to maximize this opportunity here is through private-public partnerships.

When you think about joining London EdTech Week and EdTechXEurope Summit this year, what are you looking forward to?

The opportunity to share proprietary insights about the educational needs of the fourth largest English-speaking nation in the world.

Who would you like to meet at the event?

EdTech partners who would like to distribute their products to our 10 million English-speaking students.
